This busy design was part of a design challenge, to create a banknote for a new Scottish bank. The design was to be made in a modern style, with reverence Scotland’s industry.
Design for a speculative £100, for a new Scottish Bank.
This is a design for the reverse of the note, which was to showcase some aspect of Scottish industry – in this case, a sea oil rig. This is overlaid with a map of North Sea oil deposits, and the same map of the sea floor, pixelated. Also visible are blue dots, referencing a digital display of the Scottish flag.
